Poem: A Holiday Card

A HOLIDAY CARD

By Cassie Newell

To send a holiday card with wished blessings,

makes me recoil at my own deft greetings.

For we fail to talk as often as before,

that I hope you don’t resend it all ashore.

I remember our times, with such fondness

that I long for the days, weeks, months in honest.

Therefore except my attempt at redemption,

as I’ve had not a better intention.

Drink be merry, as once ago, I’ll do the same toast,

      to our friendship once more.
