Danielle

I find it hard to articulate

There’s nowhere else I’d rather be

Laughing with little stars in your eyes

Holding a fleeting moment of time

*

Chatter box of non-sense words

Playing with imaginary friends

Views of a world as a Pirate adventure

Princess gowns with crowned jewels

*

Moments held tight in my heart

Among toothless grins with dimple quotations

Stay seven forever my lil one

Stamped in your childhood brilliance

Summer time, is always a focus time for my writing…  Trying my hand at poetry, cheers!

GOING FORWARD

By Cassie Newell

*     *     *      *     *     *

You said failure was not an option

Hate to disappoint

Falling down brush it off

I hold my breath for the verbal assault

*

How quickly I was replaced

It was a slap in the face

I won’t fade

You left, you went away

Stay

*

Your win is my win or so we said

Your win is your win

Selfishness unsaid

Losing time to care

*

How quickly you were replaced

It was a slap in the face

You won’t fade

I left, I went away

Holding on

*

You speak loud and clear

It’s your physical cues

I hear your voice without a sound

Sinister smile holds true

Pushing memories away

*

How quickly it was replaced

It was a slap in the face

Fading away what was left

With little consequence

With little consequence
